Q. What is the Intelligent Fan Controller (IFC)?

The Intelligent Fan Controller (IFC) is a universal fan control device that can be used to control fans in attics, greenhouses, sheds, garages, and out buildings. The IFC may also be used to control fans which vent or cool the home or recreational facilities, for energy conservation to reduce your electrical bills.

The venting initialized by the IFC starts based on the difference in the temperature and the difference in humidity between the inside and outside environments at any given time. The venting is based on precise measurements of both the inside and outside temperature, as well as the inside and outside humidity.

With our Intelligent Fan Controller, your fan will only be activated when the temperature or humidity inside can be reduced.

The result would be a cooler and dryer venting place (like attic, garage, living areas). Our IFC preventing venting, which may result in blowing 110°F hot air from outside to 100°F attic. The venting based on humidity is start when inside relative humidity is 12% or more then the external relative humidity.

In all IFC8 models the starting venting temperature is adjustable from 25°F to 110°F and difference between internal and extrernal temperature can be easy adjust from 6°F to 30°F.

Q. Can I extend the cables length?
Yes. Provided by us the external cable is 50' in length, and the internal cable is 10' in length. An extension to at least 400' would not be a problem. The cables are standard CAT5E cables widely use in computer networking and are available from most of the computer stores.

Q. We consider purchasing your IFC8a model to be attach to our whole house fan. Can we change the temperature sensor setting to be activated at 4°F degrees difference and to 70°F inside temperature?
Yes. The adjustment is relatively easy and can be performed with only a screwdriver. We can set the controller to your specification just before shipping at no extra charge.

Q. Is any advantage of reducing venting attic when the external temperature is 4°F or less then internal temperature?
We have conducted endless hours of testing to determinate the optimum activation point. We have found that setting from 6°F to 4°F would cause an attic fan to be running at least twice as long to reduce the additional 2°F degrees. In same cases attic fans can substantial depressurize the attic, drawing warm moist air out of the house and into the attic.to make impossible to equalize an internal and external temperature. Natural roof ventilation should be use as a primary way of maintain a correct temperature and humidity in the attic during winter. Our IFC controller is indented to be activated only when the natural ventilation is not sufficient. IFC controller will correctly detect a difference in temperature in the entire spectrum from -40°F to 175°F even less then 4°F.

What is the warranty for the unit?
Three years, parts and labor on manufacturer defects.
